Hi friend, my name is Win.
I am a poet and painter pursuing my dreams of making my own path as an artist. I’m currently living in England, though I was born in Myanmar and lived there until I was seven years old.
My artistic career has been a journey of lost and found. Veering away from creating to pursue traditional education, I became a chartered Landscape Architect in my early adult life only to find myself once more holding pens and paint brushes in my mid 20s.

With every poem I wrote and read out loud to the hours spent painting, I found a place where I truly belonged and could authentically express myself. My belonging is strengthened by my learning of my family back in Myanmar, who too were artists, poets, writers, musicians and philosophers. The realisation of their creativity as I pursued mine only nourished and fortified the decision that a life dedicated to artistic expression is the path I would take.
What is Contemplations?
My poetry found a home on Substack back in 2021 where I was able to share my poetry with others in an intimate way. I found a safe place where I was able to explore topics of my own musings, stemming from hours spent in solitude.
Back then, the world was on lock down, I had just moved into my own place to live by myself a year prior and as a result, had done much self exploration and internal growing.
Contemplations newsletter allowed me to use poetry as a way of connecting with like minded souls and it was my first point of coming out into “the world” as a poet, writer and speaker.
I decided to call it Contemplations because the word itself evoked a moment of silence and rest. As evident throughout the years of 2020 to 2022, many of us, including myself realised the auto-pilot switch we had put on.
From then until this day, I wanted to intentionally create a space where we could come back to, time and time again. A space where the words and questions were expansive enough for us to feel like we were taking deep full breaths.

When you subscribe ~
Every Sunday, I publish a short poem as written and spoken word - just long enough so you can enjoy it while you have a cup of hot drink (or water!) and take a moment of rest from your day.
Should it take your fancy, there will also be a short segment where I tell you about my week and what is happening in my studio. I decided to add this to my weekly poetry archive because I think it can be quite comforting to know you are not alone in journeying along in this game of life.
When you subscribe, every new poem goes directly to your inbox so you won’t miss a thing!
Why subscribe ~
Starting our week with Contemplations can allow us to prepare for the week ahead.
This newsletter is for you if you:
~ are yearning for a sense of recognition in your human experience
~ like to ask the bigger questions
~ are a fellow dreamer and do-er interested in creating a path of your own
~ like to connect deeply with others.
My wish ~
My wish is to start a community of Contemplatives, who take brave steps and cherishes the full experience that being human presents us.
I have grown much from the woman who started this journey in 2021 and I hope we can be on this path of contemplating and growing together.
Much love,
Win
